vm2 ist eine Open-Source-VM/Sandbox für Node.js. In Version 3.10.4 ist vm2 anfällig für vollständiges Sandbox-Escape bei der Ausführung willkürlichen Codes. Der Angreifercode in VM.run() ruft das Host-Prozessobjekt ab und führt Host-Befehle ohne Host-Kooperation aus. Dieses Problem wurde in Version 3.10.5 behoben.
